Splash Page

Hey, it’s Kaoru! I happen to dot on Rurouni Kenshin - *sighs fondly* what a pretty anime that was… As for your splash page. Very uninformative and really no reason for it to exist. Since the settings that you proclaimed on it is one of those things that is compatible with practically all browsers and your resolution is okay, you really don’t need a splash page because it’s not as if you have an alternative version of your site other than the frame layout. Therefore, you should drop the splash page.

Main Page
I has to refresh twice to get your content to load… I wonder why that was. The explorer window seemed to freeze up on me slightly for awhile – but now it’s loading. Cute – so this is a Kaoru shrine? Layout is cute and simple – although as I said again, it loaded up strangely. Navigation is pretty nice too. Not trying to nitpick though but having the layout on that bottom corner reveals so much empty black space that it looks pretty bear. You should have placed it in the center right instead… that way the black space doesn’t seem so bad.

Information
You explain some things pretty well in this section, but there is some stuff you leave vague. What is a Bokken and a shinai? You should explain that. As for your talk about her family relationship. I take it that you never watched the second OVA. Just to inform you, the relationship between Kaoru’s mom and dad were distant. It was an arranged marriage and they really didn’t get all lovely dovey with one another. Truthfully, what ended up occurring was that it looked like her father didn’t care much for Kaoru’s mother. The only time she was able to see her father feel for her mother was after her death when he cried in the rain. I really recommend that you look up the second OVA because it has this indepth look on Kaoru’s and Kenshin’s relationship although I hated the ending. Also, you mentioned something about reading an Aoshi and Kaoru fic that was really good? I want to know the title of it!

I've watched the second oav (and I cried rivers of tears mind you. ^_^) but I've been too lazy to update the info. *notes to self to add that to her to-do list*  But thanks anyway.  As for the Aoshi and Kaoru fic, I'll email you the url  because its eluding me at the moment. ^_^x

Ahh – I like your image gallery. Truthfully, it’s unique. Usually it’s just same old anime/manga scans over and over. I like the fact that you have douj scans. And they’re so pretty too! I think I’ll be saving them for my own collection. As for the wallpaper, please write down the resolution that it is in on the top. I really wish you had some copies of it in 1024x768 because that’s what I use.

The links to the fanfiction are not up. Why not? I wanted to read some pretty fics too! But I do like the fanart. They’re very pretty.

Everything seems good in this area. The only real comment I have about this would be that you used move your updates to possibly the main page or someplace more revealing so that people know what you have updated. Sometimes people don’t go as far as the site page or miss it so they think you never update.

Etcetera
I like how you showed the different versions of Kaoru. That was cool. And the fact that you have opinions and everything – sweet. I wouldn’t call it “Etcetera’ though, because at first I thought it was just random stuff that really hadn’t anything to do with much. But this is actually a really important section because it has more of a personal touch to the site.

Overall
Please add back links to your subpages because it makes it easier to navigate to back pages. Other than that, your site is really nice. Layout is simple, navigation good, content yummy – I really liked it as a whole. It’s such a well rounded shrine. Just fix up your broken links and it’ll be the best.
